Song meanings: That Green Gentlemen

Panic! At the Disco - That Green Gentlemen

Things are shaping up to be pretty odd.

Little deaths in musical beds.

So it seems I'm someone I've never met.

You will only hear these elegant crimes,
Fall on your ears from criminal dimes.
They spill unfound from a pretty mouth.

everybody gets their and everybody gets their
and everybody gets their way.
I never said I missed her when everybody kissed her,
Now I'm the only one to blame.

Things have changed for me, and that's okay.
I feel the same, I'm on my way, and I say.
Things have changed for me, and that's okay.

I want to go where everyone goes,
I want to know what everyone knows
I want to go where everyone feels the same.
I never said I'd leave the city,
I never said I'd leave this town.
A falling out we won't tiptoe about.
everybody gets their and everybody gets their
and everybody gets their way.
I never said I missed her when everybody kissed her,
Now I'm the only one to blame.
Things have changed for me, and that's okay.
I feel the same, I'm on my way, and I say.
Things have changed for me, and that's okay.
I feel the same and I say
Things have changed for me, and that's okay
I'm on my way, and I say
Things have changed for me.

Source of the lyrics

This is one of my favorite songs. Actually I like every Panic!'s songs. That Green Gentlemen, maybe some people was wondering about what does this song about. Well, I try to tell you about my opinion about the song meaning.

Ryan Ross wrote this song. He is good in 'faking meaning'. The lyrics is on the album, Pretty Odd. This is an amazing song with wonderful song meaning I think. I am sure behind the whole lyrics there is a deep meaning. So, here is my own opinion about the song meaning.

Things are shaping up to be pretty odd.

Little deaths in musical beds. So it seems I'm someone I've never met.

The song is about someone who broke up with his girlfriend. Everything has changed. He doesn't feel as always (when he hasn't broken up). He feels strange with his 'new' situation..

You will only hear these elegant crimes, Fall on your ears from criminal dimes. They spill unfound from a pretty mouth.

It sounds like a sarcasm toward his ex-. 'unfound' is something dishonest, unanswered question. It means lie. He says that the girl is a liar.

everybody gets their and everybody gets their and everybody gets their way

It just like everybody including him has a point to do or say something.

I never said I missed her when everybody kissed her,
Now I'm the only one to blame.

He never regrets about his decision to leave his ex-.

Things have changed for me, and that's okay
I feel the same, I'm on my way, and I say. Things have changed for me, and that's okay.

He never looks back. He is ready for the change, it just like he is already moved/moving on.

I want to go where everyone goes,
I want to know what everyone knows,
I want to go where everyone feels the same.

He wants to be a normal person, just like the others.

I never said I'd leave the city,
I never said I'd leave this town.
A falling out we won't tiptoe about.

He will never exit his life or even sit and waiting for the change to come.

Well, this is just about my opinion. I don't know if you have the same idea with me or not. I have read some opinion about this song, some of them have the same ideas with me. Sorry if I was wrong.
