Ramires was suspended for the Champions League final after picking up a booking against Barcelona in the semi-final but still enjoyed the triumph of his team mates.

David Luiz was injured for the semi-final but told his international compatriot to represent him too, before Ramires returned the request for the final.

'Before the game against Barcelona, I told Ramires to play for him and for me,' explained Luiz before the clash against Bayern Munich.

'After the game he hugged me and told me [to play the final] for him. But I will not only play the final for me or for him or our families, I will play it for Brazil.

'I am sure many Brazilians would love to be on the pitch, so I will do my best for them.'
